Indian Postage Stamps in Devanagari - Compilation

When we talk about Indian Stamps in Devanagari, two stamps that were designed in 1960s to commemorate 'Ashadhasya Pratham Divase' - First day of Aashadh (Marathi Month Aashadh), would be celebrated and cherished first.  This stamp is based on the painting by Professor Radha Charan Bagchi of Kala Bhavan, Shantiniketan illustrating scene from the great works of Kavi Kulguru Kalidas - The Meghaduta. The designs of stamp has been executed by the staff artists of Indian Security Press - Mr. P.B.Chitnis and Mr. K.M. Dhar. This stamp is based on the painting by Raja Ravi Varma - celebrated in this country for his portrayals of figures and scenes from classical and mythological life and lore; illustrating scene from the great works of Kavi Kulguru Kalidas - The Shakuntal. Incidentally this was the very first painting done by Raja Ravi Varma on Indian Mythology in 1878. Here are some of the advertisements of the products that existed long ago, but are no more available. It is also very difficult to find a person who knows these products; so old these products are. But interestingly and surprisingly these advertisements have been designed way different from the generation of advertisements that were designed then.  Lemon Creme from Kelvin Chemicals For Hair Growth and Healthy Scalp It was called Limbaloni (लिंबलोणी) in Marathi. Iron Beds and Swings  Use of a character announcing through loud speaker on the road, which was a prevalent mode of promotion then (around 1930s). Some ads that promote Insurance, Investments and even the Lottery Here are some advertisements that explain why investment and insurance is important for self and the nation. These are all content driven advertisements and are very persuasive.    Life Insurance Corporation Advertisement published in January 1965 'Small Savings' Certificate promoted by Maharashtra Government, to fund the Indo-pak war of 1965. Marathi Film Company Logos and Studio Fronts

Prabhat Film Company Popularly known as Prabhat Films was an Indian film production company and film studios founded in 1929 by the noted film director V.Shantaram and his friends. Baburao Pendharkar suggested the name Prabhat (meaning "Dawn"), and the other partners liked it. Ayodhyecha Raja (The King of Ayodhya)  was the first talkie film of Marathi Cinema,   in 1932, which and later made under the name Ayodhya Ka Raja in Hindi.  Jayaprabha Studios Bhalji named his studio Jayaprabha, combining in it the names of Leela's (his second wife) son Jayasingh (whom Bhalji had adopted) and his own son Prabhakar.
